   printUNION HOSPITAL CHAPLAIN'S OFFICE

The Union Hospital Chaplain's Office is on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients and their families. From visits by one of our 50 volunteer chaplains or 11 room visitors to the availability of devotional materials and Bibles, we want to provide comfort and support to your mind and spirit while your body heals. While we are always just a phone call away, you will find Chaplain's Office representatives stationed near our Emergency Room and the Intensive Care waiting areas.

If you indicate a church affiliation to one of our room visitors, we will contact your church regarding your hospitalization. Your clergy is always welcome to visit. The Combs Memorial Chapel, located on the lower level of Union Hospital, is always open for prayer or quiet meditation. While you are in the chapel, feel free to write prayer requests in our prayer book. We have a network of volunteers and employees who will pray for your need.

Daily Devotional

Catholic patients who would like to receive daily communion need to notify our office. Various parishes have communion ministers who visit the hospital daily and could accommodate your request. Please contact us if you would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick.

The Chaplain's Fund is available to any patient who needs financial assistance, such as paying for meal tickets for family members during their loved one's stay, prescription medications, gasoline for patients to go home after their hospital stay, gasoline for parents to visit their child in the hospital, clothes for patients whose clothes have been damaged, layette items or taxi fares. For assistance, please contact the Chaplain's Office.

Holiday Services

Our volunteer chaplains officiate at services commemorating the following holidays -- Good Friday, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. These services begin at noon in the Combs Memorial Chapel located on the Lower Level of Union Hospital. Patients and visitors are always welcome!
