The basic need of every patient admitted to Union Hospital's Medical Rehabilitation Unit is to feel confident in the ability to once again lead a useful and meaningful life. Our goal is to help patients regain control of their lives by improving independent living skills and compensating for areas where their activity is limited. Med Rehab services at Union Hospital are located in the west building inside the 8th Ave entrance.

We strive to help patients return to their family, work and social roles. Through education and therapy, we assist our patients in finding ways to feel whole and vital again.

Union Hospital's Medical Rehabilitation Unit is a specially designed and equipped comprehensive in-patient rehabilitation facility that treats young adults through geriatric patients who have suffered a physical and/or cognitive loss of function.

A patient's activity limitations may have resulted from stroke, multiple trauma, fractured hip, amputation, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury or other debilitating or progressive neuromuscular diseases.

The Medical Rehabilitation Unit is part of a comprehensive acute care hospital with more than a century of service to the Wabash Valley. Treatment of difficult medical problems is supported by the comprehensive resources of Union Hospital.
